Operations at four airports in southern Russia have been suspended.

The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has suspended operations at the airports of Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, and Krasnodar due to security concerns. A "Carpet" regime has been introduced at Vladikavkaz Airport.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," one person was killed and nine others were injured in a drone attack in Taganrog tonight . In Krasnodar, a drone crashed into a high-rise building, injuring three people.

Rosaviatsiya announced temporary restrictions on the operation of the Vladikavkaz (Beslan) and Grozny (Severny) airports. The restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were introduced to ensure flight safety, according to a message published on the "Rosaviatsiya Speaks" Telegram channel.

A "Carpet" mode was introduced at Vladikavkaz Airport on the night of March 30 due to a drone alert declared in North Ossetia. The signal to introduce the "Carpet" mode was issued at 1:40 a.m. Moscow time, according to a message from the regional emergency response system (RSChS) received by a Caucasian Knot correspondent.

Earlier, at 1:20 a.m. Moscow time, the "Unmanned Danger" mode was reinstated in the republic, and residents began receiving recommendations on how to act in the event of a threat.

This is the second such signal in the past 24 hours. On the morning of March 29, at 6:15 a.m. Moscow time, the republic also introduced the "Unmanned Danger" mode, which was announced in a mobile phone message at 7:07 a.m. Moscow time.

On March 29, Vladikavkaz Airport operated normally. Five flights were scheduled for arrival and departure, all of which arrived and departed on schedule, according to information on the online arrival and departure board at Vladikavkaz Airport. According to the flight schedule, six flights are scheduled to arrive and depart on March 30, starting at 11:05.

The "Carpet" restrictions are typically imposed when airspace security is threatened and may involve the temporary suspension of flight arrivals and departures.

There is no official information about delays or schedule changes at this time on the Vladikavkaz Airport website.

Previously, restrictions were also imposed at Volgograd and Krasnodar airports; at the time of publication, they had not been lifted.

It is also worth noting that discussions about renaming Volgograd Airport to "Stalingrad" have been active since the 1990s. However, the airport was renamed from "Gumrak" to "Stalingrad" only after Putin's intervention.
