A Dagestani woman was sentenced to prison for torturing her daughter.

A court in Dagestan found a local woman guilty of torturing her young daughter and sentenced her to five years in prison.

The investigation and trial established that from January to March 2024, the woman systematically beat her young daughter.

The mother struck the child with her hands and a metal object on various parts of the body, resulting in injuries. The victim's injuries were classified as "minor bodily harm."

The woman was found guilty of torturing a minor in a helpless state 1 and sentenced to five years in prison. She will serve her sentence in a general regime penal colony, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Dagestan reported today.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a mother of many children from the Kizilyurt district of Dagestan was suspected of cruelty to her three children, the eldest of whom was only four years old. The children were transferred to child protection authorities. On April 22, 2025, investigators brought a new charge against the Kaspiysk resident, whose three-year-old daughter died after beatings, which carries a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. Child protection authorities demanded that she be stripped of parental rights to her three more children.
