At least 4,384 soldiers from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,519 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

Gennady Babiev, 47, a resident of the Mozdok District, was killed while performing combat missions in the war zone in Ukraine, the municipal administration reported on its Telegram channel.

Babiev's funeral took place on March 26. The official publication did not provide details of his biography or the circumstances of his death.

Thus, at least 577 soldiers from North Ossetia have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
