A resident of Kabardino-Balkaria was convicted of justifying terrorism.

The Southern District Military Court found Aslan Aloyev, a resident of the Chegem District, guilty of justifying terrorism and sentenced him to a fine of 360,000 rubles.

Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Directorate for Kabardino-Balkaria established that Aloyev, a 32-year-old resident of the Chegem District, used the internet to distribute materials justifying terrorism, the agency's press service for Kabardino-Balkaria reported.

By a final decision of the Southern District Military Court, Aloyev was found guilty of justifying terrorism. 1 He was sentenced to a fine of 360,000 rubles and a two-year ban on website administration.

The press service did not provide the name of the convicted person. According to the criminal case file on the court's website, the convicted person is Aslan Aloyev. The case was submitted to the court for consideration on November 13, 2025.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in January 2026, a Moscow court arrested Nalchik businessman Artur Zhakamukhov on charges of justifying terrorism. Zhakamukhov had lived in the United States in recent years and criticized Putin on social media.

Journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova previously faced similar charges. She was accused of justifying terrorism for two publications on her Telegram channel: a repost of journalist Orkhan Dzhemal's 2010 article about the attack on Nalchik and a publication about the Taliban movement, which was included on the list of terrorist organizations. The prosecutor demanded that Kevorkova be sentenced to six years in prison and a fine, but the court only fined her 600,000 rubles.

On March 13, 2025, Kevorkova's son organized a fundraiser to pay the fine, and the next day the required amount was raised. On April 17, the Supreme Court of Russia suspended the ban on the Taliban movement.
