A train carrying diesel fuel was sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

A shipment of approximately 4,500 tons of diesel fuel was sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on December 18, 2025, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic delivered its first shipment of locally produced petroleum to Armenia. That shipment included 1,220 tons of AI-95 gasoline. On January 9, Azerbaijan sent a second shipment of 1,742 tons of gasoline and 946 tons of diesel fuel. Facebook* users considered the trade an indicator of normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan. Meanwhile, in Armenia, amid a shortage, the price of liquefied gas has risen significantly, forcing many motorists to switch to gasoline. They believe the authorities are trying to force them to buy gasoline supplied from Azerbaijan. Armenian economists, however, believe that fuel supplies from Baku are not large enough to have a real economic impact.

A batch of approximately 4,500 tons of diesel fuel from Azerbaijan has been shipped to Armenia, Gegham Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Armenian Commission for the Protection of Competition and Consumer Rights, told the ARKA news agency on March 16.

According to him, the shipment should arrive soon. "I couldn't say exactly where the cargo is now, but it's definitely on its way," the publication quotes the official as saying.

It was previously reported that on February 25, Azerbaijan sent a shipment of approximately 4,500 tons of diesel fuel to Armenia via Georgia. A train of 39 tank cars departed from the Güzdek station, Interfax reports.
