The Investigative Committee responded to a complaint from a disabled person from Novorossiysk.

Investigators opened a criminal case following a complaint from a Novorossiysk resident suffering from a serious illness. The man claimed he was not receiving the medication he needed.

Information about the problem faced by 36-year-old Stanislav Lomov was reported in Kuban media on March 10. The man, who suffers from a chronic joint condition, reported that he was unable to obtain the medication prescribed by doctors.

Stanislav is supposed to receive the medication at a discounted price from a pharmacy. Without regular injections, which must be administered every 28 days, he experiences severe pain, and his joint deformities are progressing.

“If this disease isn't treated with modern medications, it can have serious consequences. My joints become deformed, so I can only get around with crutches; I can't walk. I've filed complaints with the Ministry of Health. When the medication is overdue, I have to lie in bed and take painkillers because the pain is terrible,” he said. In the video, he showed his hand, severely deformed by the disease.

According to the man, he has never received his medication on time: in the fall, it was delivered more than a month late, and in the winter, it was two weeks late. “During each such pause, the man suffers from terrible pain. The head physician of Novorossiysk Polyclinic No. 4 stated that all patients are provided with medication,” Kub Mash reported.

Lomov was supposed to receive his next injection pen on March 4, but as of March 10, the pharmacy still claimed the medication was out of stock. Stanislav recorded his conversation with the pharmacy employee on video: “I can’t say anything, today is Tuesday, the delivery date,” the woman replied.

Following publications about the problem, investigators in the Krasnodar Territory opened a criminal case, and the head of the federal Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the investigation.

“For a long time, the man, who suffers from an illness, has been receiving the medication he needs for injections with regular delays, and in March of this year, the medication was not provided at all. Appeals to various authorities have yielded no results,” the agency’s official Telegram channel stated. However, the Investigative Committee did not specify the article under which the case was opened or whether there are any specific suspects.
