Viktor Momotov's former business partner, Andrei Marchenko, has pleaded guilty to fraud and stated his willingness to cooperate with the investigation.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," entrepreneur Andrei Marchenko, who is a co-defendant in the Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit against former head of the Council of Judges Viktor Momotov, was arrested at the end of September last year in connection with a criminal fraud case. A few days later, his son, Ivan Marchenko, was also arrested.

On September 23, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that 97 properties registered to Andrey Marchenko, owner of the Marton hotel chain, and his son, Ivan Marchenko, be forfeited to the state. The Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit states that Momotov was effectively a co-owner of the hotel chain registered to Marchenko, despite a ban on judges engaging in entrepreneurial activity. The lawsuit refers to Marchenko as a "Krasnodar criminal representative." A few days after the lawsuit was filed, Momotov resigned. On October 14, the court upheld the claim, ordering the seizure of the assets of Momotov, Andrei, and Ivan Marchenko, both of whom were arrested in Krasnodar in September.

Andrei Marchenko, a hotel business associate of former judge Viktor Momotov, has pleaded guilty and is ready to cooperate with the investigation into a criminal fraud case, TASS reported on January 8, citing a law enforcement source.

According to the source, Marchenko "is maintaining a confessional position."

The Interregional Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service for Debt Management No. 1 has initiated bankruptcy proceedings against Andrei Marchenko; the case is being heard in the Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai. The debt to creditors was initially stated at 431.3 million rubles, but a petition has been filed to clarify it.

On November 29, Andrei Marchenko was arrested during the preliminary investigation in a criminal case of fraud, while he is under house arrest in another case of fraud and unauthorized absence from work.
