A Moscow court has extended the pretrial detention of former Kuban Vice-Governor Anatoly Voronovsky, who is accused of accepting bribes.

"The detention period for former State Duma deputy Anatoly Vladimirovich Voronovsky, accused of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, has been extended for three months," the press service said in a post on its Telegram channel.

As a reminder, at the end of November, Anatoly Voronovsky, who became a State Duma deputy in 2021, filed for early retirement. parliamentary powers. Prior to this, on November 11, the State Duma approved the stripping of his parliamentary immunity at the request of the prosecutor's office. Later, the State Duma stripped Voronovsky of his mandate early, approving his request.

According to investigators, Voronovsky received bribes in the form of property and services from Safarbiy Napso, director of the unitary enterprise "Dagomys Road Repair and Construction Department." The total value of the bribe is estimated at more than 25 million rubles. This includes an apartment in Krasnodar, renovations and furnishings at the deputy's son's home in Sochi, construction of a dam and lake cleanup in the Ust-Labinsky district on the deputy's family's land, as well as agricultural equipment for Voronovsky's relatives.

At the end of October, a Sochi court sentenced Safarbiy Napso to four years in prison, finding him guilty of embezzling property from an enterprise.
