A Kuban resident was arrested for plotting a terrorist attack in Stavropol.

Security forces detained an 18-year-old resident of Kuban. According to investigators, she traveled to Stavropol under the influence of telephone scammers to blow up a serviceman's car.

FSB officers detained an 18-year-old woman in Stavropol who, after being deceived by telephone scammers, was planning a terrorist attack against a Defense Ministry officer, the FSB Public Relations Center (PRC) reported today.

"In Stavropol, the illegal activity of a Russian citizen, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory born in 2007, was prevented. She, on orders from the Kyiv regime's special services, was preparing a terrorist attack against a serviceman of the Russian Ministry of Defense," the PRC noted. According to the FSB, she intended to attach a homemade explosive device equivalent to 400 grams of TNT, obtained from Ukrainian security forces, to a vehicle parked near a military unit. While attempting to carry out her criminal plan, she was caught red-handed.

"It has been established that the suspect fell under the influence of telephone scammers in December of this year, who persuaded her to commit a terrorist attack under the false threat of criminal prosecution," the statement reads.

The Investigative Department of the FSB Directorate for Stavropol Krai has opened a criminal case against her under the article on attempted terrorist attack (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), illegal possession and manufacture of explosives (Part 4 of Article 222.1 and Part 3 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

TASS has posted a video of the suspect's arrest and interrogation. According to the video, upon seeing the security forces, the girl, raising her hands, runs away from the bag or purse toward the wall. She stated that she had come to Stavropol "on the orders of her handler from Ukraine." Following his instructions, she collected an explosive device and went to the military unit's parking lot, where she filmed the cars parked there, intending to attach the explosive device to one of them.
