57 drones were shot down in two regions of the Southern Federal District.

The Ministry of Defense reported 34 drones shot down overnight in the Volgograd Region and 23 in the Rostov Region. Another four drones were shot down over the Black and Azov Seas.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night, the military shot down drones in the Chertkovsky, Sholokhovsky, Millerovsky, and Tarasovsky districts, the governor of the Rostov Region reported. According to the ministry, no one was injured.

Last night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 77 Ukrainian drones, including 34 in the Volgograd Region and 23 in the Rostov Region.

Three more drones were shot down over the Black Sea, and one over the Sea of Azov, the Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the publication, the remaining drones were shot down in the Kaluga, Moscow, Belgorod, and Voronezh Regions, and in Crimea.

The Volgograd Region administration reported the drone attack began at 12:23 a.m. Moscow time. "At this time, there are no casualties or damage to any facilities," Governor Andrei Bocharov was quoted as saying on the administration's Telegram channel.

As of 9:56 a.m. Moscow time, the regional administration had not released any new information about the aftermath of the attack. The Rostov Region Governor also did not provide any new information about the overnight attack on his Telegram channel.

As a reminder, on the night of December 18, three people were killed and six were injured in a drone attack in the Rostov Region. Several private homes were damaged in Bataysk, and two new buildings and a ship in the port were damaged in Rostov-on-Don.

On November 25, three people were killed and eight were injured in a drone attack in Taganrog and the village of Bessergenevskaya. A 76-year-old Taganrog resident who suffered serious injuries later died in the hospital, bringing the death toll to four.

By December 23, Taganrog authorities had received 826 requests for financial assistance from residents affected by drone attacks in November and December. 646 of the 665 windows in the damaged homes have been repaired.
