Fires on a pier and a tanker in the port of Taman, which started after a drone attack, have been extinguished, and extinguishing work on a fuel oil pipeline continues. Authorities have confirmed there is no oil spill.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night, a drone attack in the village of Volna in the Temryuk District (in the port of Taman) damaged a pipeline at one of the terminals, starting a fire. Additionally, two piers and two vessels were damaged. Fires also broke out at the piers.

At the port of Taman, fires on a tanker and a pier have been extinguished, the Krasnodar Krai administration reported on its Telegram channel.

The fire has been reduced to 1,500 square meters.

"Emergency services continue to battle the fire on the fuel oil supply pipeline. The fire has been reduced to 1,500 square meters," the publication stated.

According to updated information, two piers, one pipeline, and two tankers were damaged in the UAV attack at the port of Taman. A fire broke out on one of the tankers, which has already been extinguished.

"Two storage tanks were also damaged by falling debris. There was no oil spill. There were no injuries. 119 people and 34 pieces of equipment are involved in the work," authorities reported.

Attacks on oil industry facilities create problems for residents of Kuban

As a reminder, on December 14, during a drone attack in the village of Afipsky in the Seversky District, "UAV debris" damaged five private homes, authorities reported. A power line was also downed.

This village is home to an oil refinery, which has been repeatedly targeted by drone attacks. On November 29, for example, an aerial attack caused a fire at the refinery, and workers were evacuated. The fire was extinguished that same day.

On the night of September 26, a fire also broke out at the Afip Oil Refinery. On October 29, 2023, before the fire at the Afip Oil Refinery, according to eyewitnesses, the sound of an explosion was heard.

The proximity to the oil refinery also creates problems for residents of the Ilsky settlement in the Seversky District. There, in particular, on December 1, a drone attack damaged 19 houses and a cell phone tower. Authorities promised to provide necessary assistance to residents.

On November 19, 17 residential buildings and two stores were damaged in the village of Ilsky. According to the emergency response team, this was caused by falling UAV debris. There have also been incidents involving drone attacks at the oil refinery itself. For example, on September 7, equipment at the Ilsky oil refinery caught fire as a result of an attack. Authorities reported on the prompt extinguishing of the fire.

On August 3, in Sochi, a woman sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of a drone attack in the Adler district, near an oil depot and a garage cooperative on Aviatsionnaya Street.

In July, the area around this garage cooperative also became the epicenter of a drone incident. On the night of July 24, two women were killed there, and 11 more people were injured. After the incident, garage tenants complained that they had not received compensation for their lost property. Sochi residents explained that these garages are suitable for residential use, and people live there.
