More than 870 million rubles have been allocated to three regions of the North Caucasus Federal District for the development of energy and housing and utilities.

The government has allocated over 870 million rubles from the federal budget for the development of energy and housing and utilities enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on December 5, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated over 1.5 billion rubles for the implementation of energy and housing and utilities development programs in Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia.

By the end of 2025, an additional 870 million rubles will be allocated for the implementation of energy and housing and utilities development programs in Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia. The government press service announced today that an order to this effect was signed on December 18.

"The issue was approved at a government meeting on December 18," according to a publication on the Cabinet's website.

Funds from the reserve fund are intended, as previously, to co-finance the expenses of the three republics. "Their activities include, among other things, consolidating the regional housing and utilities sector's assets. This objective is being addressed through the creation of single operators in each region. Another focus of the programs is attracting qualified specialists to the industry. This work also involves establishing economically justified tariffs. These tariffs typically differ from those previously in effect, so during the transition period, the federal government helps the regions compensate consumers for the difference in tariffs," the statement explains.

The text of the order cited by the Cabinet press service is attached to the publication. According to the document, it concerns the allocation of 871.1 million rubles in 2025. Of these, 505 million rubles were allocated to Dagestan, 280.3 million rubles to North Ossetia, and 85.8 million rubles to Ingushetia.

As a reminder, in May 2022, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an updated strategy for the socioeconomic development of the North Caucasus Federal District until 2030. Given the anti-Russian sanctions, it was decided to prioritize the development of agriculture, transport infrastructure, and tourism facilities in the North Caucasus.

In June 2021, Mishustin acknowledged the failure of the North Caucasus development program. According to him, public investment in the development of the North Caucasus Federal District had proven ineffective. Officials then reported on the preparation of a new strategy for the region's development.
