Krasnodar Vice Mayor Netreba was sentenced to four years in prison
A court in Krasnodar sentenced former Deputy Mayor Vsevolod Netreba to a prison term and a large fine for attempted fraud. The official pleaded guilty in court.
As reported by the " Caucasian Knot ," on December 11, the state prosecutor asked the court to sentence Vsevolod Netreba to 4.5 years in a general regime penal colony and a fine of one million rubles. The former deputy mayor's lawyer stated that the defendant repented of his actions and cooperated with the investigation.
Netreba was detained following searches of the city administration building, during which money and documents were seized. In April, a fraud case was opened against him , which carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
The Pervomaisky District Court today found Vsevolod Netreba guilty of attempted fraud, the United Press Service of the Kuban Courts reported on its Telegram channel.
"It was established that in April 2025, the defendant, while serving as deputy head of the Krasnodar municipality, offered an acquaintance 4,600,000 rubles in exchange for his election as a member of the Krasnodar City Duma of the 8th convocation. Netreba, however, had no real opportunity to influence this process," the court's position is quoted in the publication.
Then, as noted in the report, the candidate contacted law enforcement agencies. On April 28, in his office, Netreba received part of the sum—two million rubles—"for ensuring the candidate's guaranteed victory in the election," after which his actions were "stopped by FSB officers."
"Netreba pleaded guilty at the court hearing. Taking into account all the circumstances, he was sentenced to four years' imprisonment in a general regime penal colony, a fine of 1,000,000 rubles, and a three-year ban from holding local government positions," the publication states.
I will bring more benefit to the state and the city when I am free.
In his final statement, Vsevolod Netreba asked not to be deprived of his liberty. "In my opinion, I would be of more use to the state and the city if I were free, and I would prefer that. Otherwise, it's all up to you," 93.ru quotes him as saying today.
Netreba will remain under house arrest until the verdict is finalized. His lawyer declined to comment, the publication writes.
