Anapa City Hall intends to collect 670 million rubles from owners of fuel oil tankers.

Anapa authorities filed a petition for compensation of 670 million rubles in a dispute over the sinking of tankers near the Kerch Strait, which resulted in a fuel oil spill. The court recommended filing a new lawsuit instead of increasing the compensation amount.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, the Anapa mayor's office demanded 211 million rubles from the tanker owners in the Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai, which were spent on eliminating the consequences of the disaster in the Black Sea. At the end of May, the amount of the claim was increased 2.6 times - to 545 million rubles, and in August it rose to 647.4 million rubles. The case involves three defendants: Volgatransneft CJSC (owner of the Volgoneft 239 tanker), Kamatransoil LLC (owner of the Volgoneft 212 tanker), and Kama Shipping LLC (the charterer of the Volgoneft 212).

Anapa authorities have filed a motion to increase the claim to almost 670 million rubles in a dispute with their shipowners over the sinking of tankers near the Kerch Strait, TASS reported.

The plaintiff filed a motion to clarify the claim from 545.93 million rubles to 669.2 million rubles in connection with the payment of municipal contracts for the liquidation of the consequences of the emergency, including VAT, Interfax reports.

"We believe that we are rightfully collecting this amount, since in accordance with Law No. 44, we are fully "They paid the contract price (for liquidation of the consequences of the emergency fund) without any deductions," the plaintiff's representative stated. The court returned the petition to the plaintiff for review and clarification of the claims.

The court hearing was adjourned until November 27 to allow the plaintiff to clarify its demands regarding the ordering of documents related to previously filed contracts for liquidation of the consequences of the emergency, the agency reported.

The presiding judge explained that a certain number of municipal contracts were initially submitted to the trial; additional demands and clarification of amounts can only apply to the contracts listed in the claim. If the mayor's office intends to recover compensation under other contracts, it should file a new lawsuit, Kommersant explained.

As a reminder, on May 30, Rosprirodnadzor filed lawsuits for 85 billion rubles against the owners of the Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 tankers, which sank in the Black Sea. On August 13, the court upheld Rosprirodnadzor's claim against the owner and charterer of the Volgoneft-212 tanker and fined them almost 50 billion rubles. Later that day, the court fined the owner of the second tanker, Volgotransneft-239, 35 billion rubles. The Arbitration Court of Krasnodar Krai seized the accounts and all banking assets of the owner and charterer of the Volgoneft-212 tanker, which sank in the Kerch Strait. The charterer is already in bankruptcy proceedings. Also frozen are the accounts of Volgatransneft CJSC, which owns the Volgoneft-239 tanker, which was carrying fuel oil and sank in the Kerch Strait.

In August, satellite images showed that fuel oil pollution from sunken tankers continues to pollute the Black Sea. Most of the fuel oil settled to the bottom, including in the area of Taman, Anapa, and the Bugay Spit, scientists concluded.
