A suspect in the murder of the head of Parakar has been arrested.

The court has remanded in custody an Armenian resident suspected of murdering Volodya Grigoryan, head of the village of Parakar.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," Narek Ohanyan, a suspect in the murder of Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community, was detained on September 27. The following day, he was taken into custody, and security forces detained a second suspect, who confessed to the murder of the village head and indicated the location of the machine gun used to shoot Grigoryan.

A suspect in the murder of Volodya Grigoryan and his friend has been arrested, Yerevan Today reported today, citing the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The suspect is 20-year-old G. Harutyunyan. The investigator asked the court to pretrial detention for him, and the court granted the petition, Hetq.am reports.

As a reminder, on February 5, an armed attack occurred on the home of Mher Akhtoyan, the head of the village of Merdzavan. Akhtoyan's cousin, Grigor Ohanyan (a close relative of Narek Ohanyan), was killed. Volodya Grigoryan's brother, Paykar Grigoryan, is one of the defendants in the Ohanyan murder case, Novosti-Armenia reported on September 28.

Snap elections to the Parakar Council of Elders were held on March 30. The opposition bloc "Unity" won, and its list leader, Volodya Grigoryan, became the head of the community.
