Azerbaijan reports demolition of Foreign Ministry building in Khankendi

The building of the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh is being demolished; the equipment began working on the independence day of the self-proclaimed republic.

A modern administrative building for the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Development of the Karabakh Region under the State Committee for Urban Development and Architecture will be built in its place, the "AzerTaj". The demolition of the building began on September 2 and was specially timed to coincide with this date, when Nagorno-Karabakh celebrated Independence Day. "The goal is to completely eradicate traces of separatism on our lands and once again emphasize the beginning of a new stage of creation and development based on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," the agency's publication emphasizes.
