Cherkessk authorities postponed resettlement of residents of emergency housing

Cherkessk officials informed residents of the emergency house No. 9 on Gutyakulova Street that their house, despite promises, was not included in the list of those subject to resettlement

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, residents of house No. 9 on Gutyakulova Street in Cherkessk have been asking to be resettled since 2021, but officials ignore their requests, although they admit that the house is dilapidated. In an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the residents complained that large families live in a dilapidated former dormitory building, without the means to buy or rent other housing, and asked for help in relocating. The presidential administration forwarded their complaint to the government of Karachay-Cherkessia. In December 2021, the residents of the dormitory wrote another letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A resident of house No. 9 on Gutyakulova Street in Cherkessk spoke on condition of anonymity On September 7, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed that their houses were still not being resettled, but that the neighboring house No. 7, which is also in disrepair, had already been resettled in the spring. According to her, she received a call from the mayor's office.

"They told me that you have a lot of requests, come with documents. I said, "Okay!" And I asked, "Are you already resettling the ninth?" "Oh, do you live on the ninth? No, we are resettling the seventh," they answered me. And of course, they cancelled the invitation," she said.  

According to her, despite repeated requests, officials are getting off with formal replies. Thus, at the end of August, residents of the house received another letter signed by the Deputy Mayor of Cherkessk Zaur Tugov, which stated that the house had not been included in the list of houses for resettlement compiled by the mayor's office, despite the officials' statements back in 2022 that they were considering including the house in this list.

At the same time, the letter emphasized that the house was included in the list of houses whose resettlement was being carried out under the subprogram "Provision of affordable, comfortable housing and utilities to the population of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic" of the republican program "Increasing the stability of residential buildings, main facilities and life support systems in seismic areas." It is noted that the issue of resettlement will be resolved in stages “as new residential premises come into municipal ownership.”

If earlier we were promised resettlement in 2025, now they suggested waiting until 2028

“At the same time, when we contacted the head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Rashid Temrezov before, we were told that the house was included in the regional program for resettling emergency housing. But if earlier we were promised resettlement in 2025, now they have suggested waiting until 2028,” added the resident of the house.
