All garrisons of federal forces were relocated from the villages of Komsomolskoye, Martan-Chu, Roshni-Chu, Gekhi-Chu situated at the foot of the Black Mountains.

The population took denudation of the foothills as a signal of forthcoming worsening of the situation. Only in the village of Gekhi-Che 30 families quickly left their homes and move to neighboring Ingushetia.
