Makhachkala: passers-by support Magomedov's demand to release his colleague Gadjiev

The residents of Makhachkala, who witnessed Magomed Magomedov's solo picket, expressed solidarity with the journalist's demand to release Abdulmumin Gadjiev. Law enforcers wrote the picketer's personal data down, but did not interfere with his solo picket.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev's colleagues treat his criminal case as political persecution and regularly hold solo pickets in his support.

Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" outlet, has stated that there were no obstacles to his latest solo picket. According to his story, the reaction of passers-by was quite active. Many of them gestured in support, and drivers honked their horns.

Another Gadjiev's colleague has confirmed that passers-by actively responded to the demands voiced by Magomedov; many of them stopped and expressed their support.

Let us remind you that on January 29, Idris Yusupov*, a journalist with the "Novoye Delo" outlet, went out to a solo picket in support of Gadjiev, but law enforcers interfered with the action three times until it had to be completed due to the fact that another man unfolded a similar poster nearby.

On January 15, Magomed Magomedov tried to hold a picket in Gadjiev's support. Another picketer joined him; therefore, law enforcers detained Magomed, accusing him of violating the rules of holding a solo protest. The court found no signs of wrongdoing in his actions, and Magomedov was released. He treated the disruption of his picket as law enforcers' provocation.
