Dagestan and Chechnya at opposite ends of ranking of wage growth rates

Dagestan entered the top three among Russian regions in terms of average annual wage growth over five years, while Chechnya was among outsiders, yielding to Kabardino-Balkaria and other regions of Northern Caucasus.

The rating of Russian regions in terms of wage dynamics, prepared by experts of the “RIA Rating” according to the “Rosstat” (Federal State Statistics Service), has been released today by the “RIA Novosti”.

One of the rating indicators is the average annual wage growth rate over the past five years. According to the mentioned indicator, Dagestan and the Republic of Altai ranked third with the annual wage growth of 10% among the regions of Russia. The maximum wage growth rate of 12.3% was recorded in the Amur Region.

Chechnya with 6.5% of annual wage growth ranks third from the bottom of the rating.

Other regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) were not included in the top 40 regions by the annual wage growth rate. Karachay-Cherkessia with 8.4% is in the 42nd place. In North Ossetia, the average annual wage growth rate reached 8.1%, in the Stavropol Territory – 7.9%, in Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria – 7.7%.

Meanwhile, Chechnya ended up at the very bottom of the ranking in terms of the number of years after which more than half of the republic’s residents will earn 100,000 roubles or more. For the republic, the figure is 22.5 years.

Kabardino-Balkaria occupies the penultimate place, where more than half of the republic’s residents will earn from 100,000 roubles in 19.7 years. For Ingushetia, the figure is 17.9 years, for North Ossetia – 17.5 years, for Karachay-Cherkessia and Stavropol – 17.3 years, and for Dagestan – 14.5 years.
