British authorities count "Litvinenko's case" solved

The British authorities have reported that the murder of Alexander Litvinenko, ex-FSB officer, may be regarded cleared. Basing on the judicial examination and the intelligence data, the British inspectors came to a conclusion that the poisoning was a "state-financed" attempt organized by Russian special agencies. This was reported by the ABC News TV Company with a reference to a source inside the British authorities.

The source has noted: the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) of Russia has admitted that the attempt was badly organized, since the killers had to make two attempts to poison Litvinenko. Besides, according to the British investigators, the Russian authorities did not expect that the poison - polonium-210 - would ever be discovered, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

Mr. Litvinenko died in the evening on November 23, 2006, in London from poisoning with radioactive polonium-210.
