Kosachov: accusing Russia of poisoning Litvinenko is proofless

Konstantin Kosachov, chairman of the Committee of State Duma on Foreign Affairs, believes that a certain "presumption of guilt" has formed in the West in relation to Russia. The "Rosbalt" correspondent reports that while making his comments on the situation with death of Alexander Litvinenko, ex-FSB officer, Mr. Kosachov noted ironically: "Whatever happens in the world, people see Kremlin's intrigues in it." The Member of Parliament thinks that charges against Russia and its special agencies of involvement in Alexander Litvinenko's death are absurd and proofless.

Meanwhile, The Washington Times writes that after the death of the former KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko and assassination of the well-known anti-Kremlin Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, it is quite possible to assert that the headquarters of the 21st century "Murder Corporation" has been set up in the Kremlin office of Vladimir Putin, president of the Russian Federation.

The British police, which continue their investigation into the circumstances of Litvinenko's death, would like "to ask questions" to businessman Boris Berezovskiy, The Times, another newspaper, has informed. According to The Times, the interrogation of the tycoon can take place in the near future. During a search, the British police have detected traces of radioactive polonium-210 in the office of Berezovskiy; this radioactive element was the cause of Litvinenko's death, the ITAR-TASS informs.
