Kadyrov demands to punish residents of Chechnya for filming detentions

Videos are posted in social networks, in which Chechen law enforcers are chasing residents or detaining alleged quarantine violators. Ramzan Kadyrov has demanded to identify authors of such video clips and send them to work as cleaners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 29, Kadyrov ordered to tighten control over people's movements, and to attract violators of self-isolation regime to public works. Meanwhile Kadyrov himself and other Chechen officials ignore the prophylactic measures by taking part in collective namazes (prayers).

The video clips, in which law enforcers are beating up people, trigger indignation among residents of Chechnya, since the Chechen society, as well as the Caucasian one as a whole, has a very acute attitude to injustice, Ruslan Kutaev, the President of the Assembly of the Caucasian Nations, believes.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov, a blogger, has noted that Chechen authorities are using the self-isolation regime to intensify repressive measures against the society.

Chechen residents believe that the above Kadyrov's orders are a warning to those, who are trying to film people's detentions, making public law enforcers' violations, as well as a guide to action for the latter.

Video records of detentions have appeared in social networks and instant messengers, said Lechi, a local resident.

"I've taken Kadyrov's statement primarily as a warning to those who dare fixing people's detentions by law enforcers," said Madina, a local woman.
