Juvenile delinquency grows in Azerbaijan

Some 8 thousand children tramp in Azerbaijan, official sources say. Approximately 20% of them are children who arrived in Azerbaijan from Russia. About 75% are children who arrived in Baku from republican districts in search of a job. It is quite an easy task to involve these children in criminal activity, said coordinator of the Migration Resource Center Azer Allakhverianov. Corresponding state agencies and non-governmental organizations in Azerbaijan should address this problem immediately, Mr Allakhverianov believes. Otherwise the state and society will face with a sharp increase in crime in the near future.
