Killed rebels' relatives apply to prosecutor's office

Relatives of killed rebels have applied to the Kabardino-Balkar prosecutor's office with a statement in which they ask: to give out the bodies of their sons for burial according to Islamic practices; to investigate and establish the true circumstances that led to the 13 November developments and, eventually, to their sons' death; to sue Kabardino-Balkaria's Internal Affairs Minister Shogenov, Organised Crime Combating Department chief Kiarov, and other people guilty of violating believers' rights and religious discrimination, under articles 136, 148, and 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and for bodily harm, moral damages and killing of the attackers; and to stop sweeping repressions against the Muslim population of the republic. This is what Caucasian Knot's correspondent reports.

According to lawyer Larissa Dorogov, a representative of the Prosecutor of Kabardino-Balkaria met representatives of the parents of killed rebels who keep on gathering in the square in front of the House of Government or near the Prosecutor's Office in Kabardino-Balkaria every day. He said that the bodies of the killed rebels would be preserved until the end of the investigation. However, he did not answer the question of the representatives of the parents of the killed men about where their bodies currently were.

On 3 November, three refrigerator cars with the bodies of killed rebels were linked and left Nalchik, Caucasian Knot's correspondent was told by some killed rebels' relatives who had hoped to get the bodies and bury them until the very last moment. The relatives were not allowed to see the dead and say goodbye go them before they would be brought away.
